The GTBUPC will meet every third Tuesday of the month to review minutes, agendas and future planning. Seperate committee meetings may be planned and will report accordingly to the council when deemed necessary.

Scuba divers will be converging at the pipeline at 9 a.m., June 28th (last Saturday of the month) to clean up trash that has accumulated along the pipeline over the past few summers. Mesh bags will be provided and Chris Doyal will be on hand taking underwater pictures - so smile when you see him! For more information call Scuba North at 231-947-2520.
- It will take one million years for a glass bottle to decompose.
- An aluminum can will break down in 80-200 years.
- A plastic cup will be around for 150 years.
- Monofilament fishing line. How long till it's gone? 600 years.
- Plastic beverage bottles: 450 years.
- A cigarette filter takes 1-5 years to decompose.
- Disposable diapers will be in our water for 450 years.
- Foamed plastic cups and other Styrofoam materials will break down in 50-80 years.
